By Leila Nasr

BELLEVILLE – A 180-pound miniature potbelly pig made her appearance at Loyalist College on Monday to show off her ability to provide emotional support.

Miss Molly is in the process of getting certified to become a pet pig by the American Mini Pig Association. She has an intuitive ability to recognize when someone needs their day brightened, says Ruth Forget, Miss Molly’s owner.

By Miss Molly’s fourth birthday on Dec. 29, Forget is planning to submit all the videos showing that Molly has the behaviours she needs to in order become fully certified in the new year.

Once certified, Miss Molly will be able to be a therapy pig.
