BELLEVILLE – All schools in Prince Edward County are closing early Tuesday due to bad weather, the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board [2] has announced.
While buses had already been cancelled Wednesday because of snow squall warnings [3] and blowing snow creating blizzard-like conditions, schools stayed open. But early Wednesday afternoon, the board tweeted that the schools would close at 1 p.m.
The schools were calling parents and guardians to alert them that they would have to pick up their children.
*Schools closing alert* 1:00 p.m., Wed, Jan 30, 2019

The early closure of the schools comes after there were four snow days last week.
