Belleville cheerleading team gets invite to international competition

BELLEVILLE – A local group of cheerleaders will be making their way to Disney World in Orlando, Florida in May.

Cheerleaders at Pegasus Cheer Athletics at 1989 Old Highway 2, accepted their first ever invitation to compete at an international competition called The Summit.

Pegasus Cheer Athletics is the only cheerleading gym in the Quinte area. As a result of competing at the Feel the Power East Coast Championship in Mississauga, the age nine to 14-year-old junior level-two cheerleaders received their invite.

The Summit, founded in 2013 by Varsity All Star, is a competitive cheerleading event. Teams from Canada, the United States, England and others are expected to compete.

The Summit will be held between May 3 and 5, 2019.
