Third year child and youth worker students are wrapping up a week-long campaign against child abuse.

The community development project is aimed at raising money for the Quinte Childrens Foundation.

While this is the first day that the campaign has been at the school, the campaign has been set up in various locations around the Quinte Region.

“My sister works at a convenience store,” said Annie Whalen. “So it was set up there.”

“This is the only day we’ve really been able to set up the booth at the school,” said Devin Yardyn. “But the campaign has been going on for about a week.”

The group hopes to pull in around $200.

“It’s been fun so far,” said Annie Whalen. “It’s mostly been the teachers coming and donating.”

The booth was open for donations until 11 am.
