The Yardmen Arena in Belleville will host an international hockey game on Tuesday.

The Chinese women’s national team will visit the Belleville Bearcats women’s AA midget team on Tuesday evening. Team China is in Ontario to play a series of exhibition games.

They recently visited Kingston to play the Queens Golden Gals women’s hockey team and lost 6-1. Lisa Neill , vice president of rep teams for the Belleville District Girls Minor Hockey Association is looking forward to the event.

“I think it’s a really good opportunity for girl’s minor hockey, to show off what they to offer, we attract girls for all across the region, so it’s kind of nice to show off what we have to offer here in Belleville,” she said.

Neill added that Team China looks to gain some experience from playing teams in Ontario.

“They’re very excited to come to Ontario in order to prepare for their season and for the Olympics,” Neil said.

The game is free, but there will be a variety of fundraisers going on throughout the game. All proceeds will go towards Belleville District Girls Minor Hockey Association.

Doors will open at 6:00pm and the game will begin at 7:00p.m.
