Three Cobourg businesses broken into overnight

  • September 25, 2019 at 2:22 pm

By Alan-Michael Steele

BELLEVILLE – Cobourg Police are asking the community to help them find the culprits in three break-ins that happened early Wednesday morning.

Police say that around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, an attempt was made to break into a business located on Elgin Street East, near Division Street. Shortly later, two other businesses were broken into on King Street West.

The police are continuing their investigation, and believe at least two people were involved in the break-ins. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Cobourg Police or to call Crime Stoppers. Business owners are asked to check for relevant security camera footage.

These break-ins follow a long list of similar incidents, going as far back as September 2018. The break-in trend continued into 2019, with similar incidents happening in April and July.
