  • October 16, 2019 at 12:57 pm

By Zach Harvey

BELLEVILLE – Belleville police are investigating a bomb threat made Tuesday.

At 6:31 p.m., police were called to a business in the Market Street area for a report of a bomb threat, according to a news release issued Wednesday.

The threat was made by a caller who told an employee of the business that there was a bomb in a trash container close to the building.

Police searched the area but found no explosive devices.

The investigation continues, and police say they have video surveillance to work with.

They are asking anyone who might know the person responsible for the threat to contact Const. Steve Cooke at 613-966-0882, ext. 4173, or Quinte Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
