Loyalist College students to raise money for United Way

  • November 6, 2019 at 2:08 pm

By Brittany Woodcock

BELLEVILLE – Loyalist College’s public relations students are hosting their “Deals for a Difference” fundraiser on Nov. 21.

The fundraiser will help raise money for United Way Hastings and Prince Edward through a yard sale with donated items from community members, staff, faculty and students.

The items include: winter, professional and everyday clothing as well as items for a dorm.

The program says the event will positively impact the community by supporting people who use United Way’s funded programs and by repurposing old items.

Since it began, students in the public relations program have raised more than $85,000 in support.

Brandi Hodge, executive director of United Way Hastings & Prince Edward, said in a news release that it’s wonderful to see students working together.

“Whether it be the organizers helping out behind the scenes, or those graciously donating items, it’s wonderful to see these students working together to make it happen,” she said.

The event will also include raffle tickets, a LinkedIn photo booth, apple fritters from Loyalist culinary students and more.
