Police searching for man possessing weapons

BELLEVILLE – Police are looking for a man who was seen outside an eatery on Dundas Street West in possession of weapons.

Police say a store employee saw the man place both a handgun and a machete s on a garbage container outside on Tuesday. When the man was noticed he put both items in his backpack and rode his bike towards the Mary Street area.

The man is described as white, bearded, heavier set, in his 30’s, wearing a fall-type black jacket, a black toque, and white shirt police said in a press release. 

The investigation is continuing, and police will be using video cameras attached to businesses in the area as part of their investigation.
