BELLEVILLE – The holiday season is coming up quickly and so is the CP Holiday Train as it steams into the area Thursday.

Musicians Scott Helman and Madeline Merlo will be playing a free concert for attendees but organizers are asking for donations to the food bank.

The train will arrive at 9:15 a.m. in Belleville at Keegan Parkway before departing at 10:00 a.m.

It will have further stops in Trenton at 10:35 a.m. and Brighton an hour later.

The cross Canada trip started in Montreal on Tuesday and will keep chugging until Dec. 17, when it reaches the end of the railroad in British Columbia.

The whistle of the holiday train has been blowing for 21 years, with a train packing 14 rail cars and 1000 feet in length.
