BELLEVILLE – Bryan’s Auction in Trenton is collecting non-perishable food donations for people in need this holiday season.

Greg Oosting, the general manager at Bryan’s, says they try and do more around holiday time.

“This time of year requires a little bit more money and a little bit more to spread around so we try to get a few more people involved,” says Oosting.

Bryan’s regularly accepts food donations and this fall collected back to school supplies for kids in need.

The business came to Trenton in February and Oosting says Bryan’s has had success with food drives in other areas. The goal set for the fundraiser is to gather enough food to fill the back of a pick-up truck.

He said the holidays can be tougher for people, so food drives can really make a difference.

“They help out tremendously with all the hungry folks this time of year. People have to pay extra bills for heating and electricity and what not, so it helps bridge those gaps,” he says.

Bryan’s is asking that any buyers, suppliers or people that come through its location at 160 N. Murray St. in Trenton bring non-perishables to be donated to the Care and Share Food Bank.

Donations of baby food, instant formula and diapers are also being accepted.
