BELLEVILLE – Belleville Police are urging the public to keep an eye on their idling vehicles this winter.

Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the city’s west end on Sunday night.

The owner had started the vehicle and had left it idling to warm it up.

A responding officer found the vehicle parked a block away with no one inside but with the engine still running. The vehicle was then returned to the owner.

Belleville police remind the public to lock their car doors if they choose to let them idle unattended.
