Police are searching for a masked man with a gun

DESERONTO – The OPP say a masked person with a weapon attempted to break into an apartment in Deseronto Saturday night.

Just before 9:00 P.M., police say they received a call from a resident of an apartment on Mill Street. The caller reported seeing a person wearing a black mask with a white skull trying to gain entry to the apartment.

Police say when the person was unable to get in, they fired at the door before fleeing.

A canine team was sent out with the assistance of the OPP’s Tactics and Rescue team, but the person was not found

Police described the person as roughly 5’9, large build, wearing cargo pants and a white hoodie with a black design.
