By Logan Somers

BELLEVILLE – An unknown person or persons vandalized the Codrington Community Centre twice in just over a week.

The Northumberland OPP say the first damages at the community centre, located 16 kilometres north of Brighton on Northumberland County Road 30, happened between Jan. 3 and 5 and were reported Jan. 6. Several electrical outlets, lights and posts in a sun shelter located on the south side of the centre were damaged.

On Jan. 13, police were called to the centre about 10 a.m. Several signs had been pulled from the ground and tossed aside. Two larger signs had been thrown on the roof, and road reflectors had been bent and broken.

The OPP is asking for the public’s assistance with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact their nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or Peterborough/Northumberland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
