Quinte West to host career fair Tuesday

  • January 27, 2020 at 11:47 am

By Max Reid

BELLEVILLE – Local job-seekers will have their opportunity to make a first impression on a number of potential employers on Tuesday evening at the annual Quinte West Career Fair.

Seventeen employers will be on hand from 5 to 8 p.m. hoping to receive applications and resumes as well as answer any questions from members of the public.

Among the employers will be a variety of local businesses ranging from communications, manufacturing and service/hospitality firms, such as P&G, HGS, Highline Mushrooms, and Belleville’s Shorelines Casino.

Loyalist College’s Community Employment Services will also be present at the career fair. CES provides students with assistance in building resumes in preparing for job interviews.

The Quinte region is currently in need of skilled trades workers. It’s also facing a significant housing shortage, so QNet News will be following up with employers, employment agencies and potential employees as to how they plan to address the labour needs of the Quinte region.
