Nearly $10,000 in tools missing from Brighton construction company

BELLEVILLE – Northumberland OPP say around $9,500 worth of tools have been reported missing from Steve Crowe Excavating on Sharpe Road in Brighton’s Industrial Park.

In a news release, police said the missing tools were reported on the Jan. 24, but it is believed that the theft happened between 12:30 a.m., and 2:30 a.m., on Jan. 15.

The owner told police they went to get tools from a trailer on the north side of the company’s yard and found the bottom latch of the trailer was cut allowing the top latch to swing open while still giving the appearance of being intact and locked.
