BELLEVILLE – The Belleville Senators [2] kept their momentum going on Tuesday, extending their win streak to five.
Belleville picked up a road victory against the Toronto Marlies, [3]winning three to one.
The Marlies scored the first goal of the game within the first five minutes. Senators forward Rūdolfs Balcers [4] tied the game in the first period.
Balcers scored his second goal of the night at the end of the second period, assisted by rookie centre Josh Norris [5].
Norris increased his points total to 46 and is tied with Drake Batherson [6] for the most on the team. Both are fourth in the American Hockey League in points [7].
The Senators’ rookie goalie, Joey Daccord, [8] let one goal past him through the entire game while making 25 saves, picking up his 11th win of the season.
The team sits first [9] in the AHL’s eastern conference and has won eight of its last 10 games.
The Senators’ next game will be back home against the Marlies at the CAA Arena at 7 p.m. Friday.
