BELLEVILLE – A Belleville man lashed out at police after being informed that he would not be arrested, according to police.

The 27-year-old arrived at the front counter of the Belleville Police Service at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday to turn himself in on outstanding warrants.

Police say that when he was told he would be released, he grew upset and caused damage to the front lobby of the station.

He was subsequently arrested and charged further with breach of probation and mischief. He is now being held for a bail hearing.
