BELLEVILLE – Swings and slides will close for the winter, Belleville city officials announced Monday.

In a media release on Monday, the City of Belleville recreation department announced closing city playgrounds until spring.

They say that the safety surfaces underneath the playgrounds have become frozen due to the recent drop in temperature.

The city will update residents when the parks will be re-opened in the new year.
