BELLEVILLE – 8 Wing and CFB Trenton [2] have broken their own fundraising record for the 2020 Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign [3].

From September to December 2020, a donation of $$155,471.14 was raised by the base personnel and community.

“I’m inspired and humbled by the generosity of the personnel of 8 Wing/CFB Trenton who contributed to this year’s Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign in support of United Way Hastings & Prince Edward [4],” says Col. Ryan Deming of CFB Trenton in a news release on Tuesday.

This charity campaign is a donation option for federal public servants and retirees that takes place every fall.

The public servants, who raised money for the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign, can put that money towards any registered Canadian charity of their choosing.

For 8 Wing and CFB Trenton, that money will be given to United Way Hastings and Prince Edward located in Belleville.

This year’s campaign theme was “Local Love in a Global Crisis,” according to the press release.

8 Wing and CFB Trenton donated just over $100,000 to United Way during 2019’s charity campaign.
