Police release names of two young women killed in collision on Old Highway 2

BELLEVILLE – OPP in Quinte West have released the names of two young women killed in a motor vehicle crash near CFB Trenton on Sunday. 

Rebecca Beatty, 22 years old of Quinte West, and Anastasia Collins, 23 years old of Belleville, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which happened at approximately 12:30 p.m. Another person involved was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. 

The accident involved two cars, one travelling eastbound and one westbound, on Old Highway 2, east of RCAF Road.  The two young women were both in the eastbound vehicle.

East Region OPP technical collision investigators were called to the scene. Road closures were in effect between RCAF Road and Whites Road for about 12 hours.

#QuinteOPP is investigating a fatal collision at Old Hwy 2 east of RCAF Rd in #Trenton. 2 people have been killed. 1 person taken to hospital with unknown injuries. Road closed between RCAF Rd and Whites Rd while investigation continues. No further details at this time. ^dl
