BELLEVILLE – Despite the happy holidays, Belleville police responded to a number of problems over the Thanksgiving weekend.

There were 13 calls about disturbances to the peace, eight domestic disturbances, seven family disputes, four calls about unwanted persons on people’s property, three Liquor Licence Act complaints, two child-custody disputes and one neighbour dispute, according to a news release Tuesday morning from Sgt. Brad Stitt.

The disturbances were mostly related to family gatherings and over-drinking during the holiday celebrations, Stitt said.
