BELLEVILLE – Rental housing is often hard to find for the average person and has even become difficult for hockey players of the Belleville Senators.

According to Zumper [2], a company that connects renters and landlords and does studies on rental housing in both Canada and the US, the average cost of a one bedroom rental unit in Belleville [3] costs $1,250 per month. This is an increase of 5% from last year.

In the most recent Executive Summary Rental Market in Belleville [4] it is reported that the recent increase in prices over the years is due to a drop in the number of vacant rental units available.

As of Aug. 2020, the vacancy rate of Belleville [5] was at 2.6% according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

With rental spaces hard to find in Belleville, the team has sent out a request to the community asking for rental accommodations for their players.

The AHL 2021-22 season has already begun and players are in need of living spaces at least until the end of the regular AHL season which ends mid-April.
