Quinte West man charged following fatal collision
BELLEVILLE – Quinte West OPP have charged a driver in connection with a fatal motor vehicle collision that took place on Oct 3.
On Oct. 3 at approximately 12:25 p.m. OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Old Highway 2, east of RCAF Road in Trenton.
The collision involved two motor vehicles, one travelling eastbound and one travelling westbound. The two people in the eastbound car — a 22 year old woman from Quinte West and a 23 year old woman from Belleville — were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to hospital for treatment after he suffered injuries. He was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation by the OPP.
The 23 year old man from Quinte West has been charged with two counts of impaired and dangerous operation causing death.
The accused is scheduled to appear for bail at the Belleville court on Tuesday.
