BELLEVILLE – Belleville Police are seeking witnesses to a collision that left a cyclist seriously injured.

At about 5:15 Wednesday night, a 30-year-old man on was driving an electric bike west on Moira Street West near Palmer Road when he was hit by a westbound vehicle, police say

The cyclist lost control of the bike and veered into the path of another westbound vehicle, where he was hit a second time.

The cyclist was taken to Belleville General Hospital with serious injuries, then transferred to Kingston General Hospital for advanced care.

The street was closed for about four hours after the accident.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Constable Rob Travers of the Traffic Management Unit at 613-966-0882.
