College answers security questions

  • November 27, 2013 at 4:51 pm

By Kristen Oelschlagel

After a shocking armed robbery at the Loyalist College residence, there will be changes in the college’s security. Or at least for now.

On Nov. 21, four men showed up at building C, apartment 4 on Loyalist College’s new residence complex. They stole a number of the residents’ belongings before fleeing on foot into the forest behind the complex. Numerous Belleville police officers were called to the scene and police have since said they believe the men had firearms.

Loyalist College president Maureen Piercy sat down for an interview with QNet News today, to answer questions surrounding the incident and the campus’s security policies.

Both Piercy and the Belleville Police have said the investigation is continuing and there are no updates.
