United Way is halfway to target

  • November 29, 2013 at 4:01 pm

By Greg Murphy

BELLEVILLE – The United Way of Quinte has reached the halfway mark to its $2 million goal as it enters the final month of its 2013 campaign.

The $2 million target is a small increase from the amount actually raised last year, which was just over $1.95 million.

Money raised in the campaign goes to community charities that offer health and social-service programs. The United Way funds more than 40 agencies that offer more than 70 programs in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.

The campaign finishes in December. The campaign total will be announced at an event Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Empire Theatre.
