BELLEVILLE – Police are on the lookout for a thief with little sense of smell after going to a residence on Octavia Street Thursday evening where hockey equipment was reported stolen.

The hockey equipment was stolen overnight as it was airing out on the front porch, police said.

The hockey bag is black, white and red with a Team Canada logo and wheels. The adult hockey equipment inside it included a pair of CCM skates, a pair of Sherwood skates, and two Chicago Blackhawks jerseys numbered 12 and 13. Two Sherwood 5500 hockey sticks were also stolen.

The value of the stolen equipment is estimated at $700 to $800, Sgt. Sheri Meeks of the Belleville Police said.
