BRANTFORD, Ont. – A Bayside Secondary School swimmer came away with two top-10 finish in the provincial high-school swimming championships this week.
Grade 11 student Georgia Dow finished just one spot shy of the podium in the women’s 100-metre freestyle final on Wednesday, placing fourth.
She came into the Ontario Federation of Secondary School Athletic Associations [2] meet ranked third in Ontario for the women’s 50-metre free swim.
On Tuesday she finished third in her qualifying heat and advanced to the A final, where she finished seventh.

Bayside had a total of 15 swimmers in the event, some of whom were ranked provincially.
The junior women’s 4×100-metre freestyle relay team finished 22nd overall on Wednesday.
The school’s senior women’s medley team finished fifth in its qualifying heat and didn’t find itself in the final on Tuesday.
The Bayside junior men’s relay medley team crafted a top-20 finish.
The team placed last in its first heat, but managed to make it to the B final, where it finished in the bottom half.
Alexandra Whynott finished 8th in the 50-metre backstroke Para event.
Bayside made it to the OFSAA competition after winning the Bay of Quinte and Central Ontario Secondary School Athletics titles this year.
Coach Graham Collins said Tuesday that he hoped the team could crack the top 20 in the provincial ranks.
The team finished the meet ranked 53rd in the overall standings.
