BELLEVILLE – The Saginaw Spirit Ontario Hockey League team paid tribute Monday night to Terry Trafford, the player whose body was found last week after he had been missing for several days.

In the team’s final regular-season game, players wore stickers bearing his initials on their helmets.

Trafford’s body was found March 11 in his truck in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Saginaw Township, Mich. The Spirit forward had been missing since March 3.

Reports say the 20-year-old Toronto native had been disciplined by his team right before he disappeared. Trafford played in the OHL for several seasons.

QNet reporters are looking into the bigger issue of player safety in the OHL.

Stay tuned for more.
