BELLEVILLE – Potholes have been particularly bad this year, say officials at city hall, which is currently overwhelmed with damage claims from annoyed drivers.

City clerk Matt MacDonald says he’s seen three times more damage claims from angry drivers this year than he had this time last year. Drivers have been complaining that the city is not patching potholes up fast enough despite the public-works department having four crews working every day to fix the problem.

More to come.
