Loyalist students say transit needs to improve

BELLEVILLE – There are some issues with Belleville Transit that need to be addressed, according to Loyalist College students.

Their woes they voiced include frequently late buses, not enough coverage on weekends, filthy seats, and the raise in fares last year. The most common complaint was the shortened hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

When asked if they had voiced their concerns to the city, most said they hadn’t. But some said they had filed complaints through the transit office and never heard anything about it.

While most responses about the transit system were negative, some students had positive things to say.

“I do like that there are two buses for the No. 7 (route to and from Loyalist), though. That’s pretty great,” said one student.
