Signs will soon warn Belleville motorists when they’re about to enter the city’s most dangerous intersections.

The signs will read “Caution: High Collision Intersection Ahead.” Constable Rob Travers of Belleville Police‘s Traffic Services Unit said the decision to install them has been in the works for over six months.

He added that the city’s technical traffic advisory committee, which consists of representatives of Belleville Police and various city departments, made the final decision.

So where will the signage go? A number of high-risk intersections have been identified, Travers said, with the majority being between Sidney Street and North Front Street:

Travers said the signs, which are the same as the ones currently in Quinte West, will be posted until there are significant drops in the number of collisions in these areas.
