Doug Ellis

Doug Ellis describes himself as a big supporter of the Build Belleville project.

Ellis says his political platform is based on attracting more industries and jobs for graduates looking to begin their careers. Ellis would also like to “beautify” Belleville by encouraging people to take pride in where they live by keeping the city clean. Ellis is also open to finding new ways to saving taxpayer’s money. Some of his ideas include the installation of LED lights around city buildings and streetlights and working with other municipalities to share costs.

The founder of Doug’s Bicycle Shop at age 19, Ellis later sold his business and began working as a manager in the newspaper distribution business.
