No students should go hungry this week as Loyalist College is putting on two special meals just for them.

About 100 people at Loyalist College received a free, hearty bowl of chili as a special event sponsored by the alumni association and student government today in the Dining Hall.

The chili went fast as the lunch began at 11 a.m. and ran out by 12:30 p.m. The cost of the lunch was shared between Loyalist Alumni Services and by Loyalist Student Government, with Aramark providing drinks.

Student Courtney Gautheir enjoyed two bowls, saying they should do this kind of thing more often.

“They should do this every Tuesday. I’ll go for a third one if they want,” she said.

Wednesday’s lunch will also be a special event as the Thanksgiving Feast is being held from 11 a.m. until 130 p.m. The feast is only $8.99 for Loyalist students and includes a turkey dinner with a desert and a drink.
