Belleville officer arrests woman during traffic stop

BELLEVILLE – A city police officer found a woman wanted by the Belleville Police Service for breaching her probation.

On Tuesday at 12:10 a.m. an officer stopped a car on Bleecker Avenue. During the check, it was discovered that one of the passengers was wanted by police. Police also say a sufficient amount of marijuana was found on the 44-year-old woman from Hamilton, Ont.

She is charged with breaching her probation and possession of a controlled substance.

She will appear in court in Belleville on Nov. 20.
