Bay of Quinte football champions move on to COSSA finals

BELLEVILLE – The Centennial Chargers and the St. Theresa Titans will both be playing in COSSA championship games this week.

The Chargers topped the defending champions, Moira Trojans, 10-7 to claim the Bay of Quinte senior football championship Saturday.

Centennial will look to continue their undefeated season as they prepare to take on the Peterborough Crestwood Mustangs in the Senior football COSSA AA championship this Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Mary Anne Sills Park at 1 p.m.

The Moira Trojans will be travelling to Peterborough to take on the Adam Scott Lions in Peterborough for the AAA Senior championship.

St. Theresa will be hosting the Crestwood Mustangs in the COSSA AA Junior football championship game this Thursday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m., Mary Anne Sills Park.

The Titans earned the first Bay of Quinte championship in their history by defeating Moira 23-14 on Saturday.

The Mustangs topped Kenner C.V.I. 49-13 in the Kawartha final on Friday, Oct. 31, to advance to the championship game.

In the AAA junior championship game Moira will be visiting Fenelon Falls on Thursday, Nov. 6.
