People who live west of the Moira River have their pickup Nov. 1 or 8 depending if they live south or north of the Canadian National Railway tracks.

Citizens living east of the Moira River will have their lawn waste collected on Nov. 15 or Nov. 22. These dates depend on if you live north or south of Victoria Avenue.

There is no charge for yard-waste pickup. The material must be placed in brown paper bags. Plastic bags will not be accepted by the city workers.

Bush and tree limbs no longer than four feet and 2¾” in diameter will also be accepted on pickup days if they are tied tightly in small bundles.

If you can’t get your waste to the curbside for your pickup date, you can take the materials to a drop-off station at 75 Wallbridge Cres. It will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday until Dec. 5 and is open until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

A company from Kingston will be receiving the compost, a spokesperson for the city’s environment-services department said.
