BELLEVILLE – This is National Addictions Awareness Week, and Loyalist College is spreading information.

A booth is set up outside the Shark Tank Pub for the week with information on subjects such as impaired driving, gambling addiction and substance abuse. According a study by Statistics Canada in 2003, young people aged 15 to 24 are the age group most likely to struggle with addictions.

On Friday between noon and 1 p.m. a workshop called Do You Mind?, which aims to explain what addiction is, the difference between use and abuse, and the path to recovery, says  is being held in the Aboriginal Resource Centre.

The event is open to everyone.
