By Joseph Quigley

BELLEVILLE – A 14-year old was charged with assault after he allegedly hit and injured another boy on a sidewalk near Madoc’s market square Monday morning.

The youth, who comes from Tweed, was arrested on the scene on Durham Street South in Madoc.  He will appear at youth court at the Belleville courthouse in mid-April.

Const. Alan Deubel said the incident was out in the open.

“It was during a lunch hour period so there were members of the public and other youths in the area at the time,” she said.

Deubel could not offer further details into the matter, as the investigation is still ongoing.
