BELLEVILLE – Two young men have been arrested in the killing of a pet goose in Glenwood Cemetery in Picton.

The arrests in the highly publicized case were made Wednesday but were only reported late Thursday morning by the Prince Edward County OPP.

The goose was killed on March 21. Police say they received reports of two young men shooting at ducks in the cemetery pond.

The two men arrested are 17 and 18 years of age and are from Prince Edward County, police said. They have been charged with killing animals other than cattle, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, and trespassing.

The two will appear in Picton court in May.
