Woman charged after running from police

QUINTE WEST – A Trenton woman has been charged with fleeing from a police offcer after an incident early Saturday morning.

An OPP officer tried to stop a motor vehicle at 3:30 a.m. on Dundas Street West in Trenton. The vehicle did not pull over and the officer followed it for a short distance. The driver then pulled over, left the vehicle and attempted to run from police before being arrested.

The 31-year-old faces multiple charges, including Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer, Driving While under Suspension, and breaching two court orders.

The woman will appear in Belleville for a bail hearing on Sept. 21.
