Loyalist television students calling all actors

  • September 28, 2015 at 3:07 pm

By Justin Medve

BELLEVILLE – Third-year students in Loyalist’s Television New Media program get to see their work come to life for the first time when they host yearly auditions tomorrow night.

First-years in the program get to write a script for their dream film. In the second year, they further develop their vision. Their third year is spent putting it all together.

“We’ve been doing major productions probably for 14, 15 years,” said TVNM Co-ordinator Eric Howard.

The crew encourages actors of all ages to try out for the three major films they have planned for 2015.

“You want to cast your net as wide as you possibly can,” Howard said.

Someone might try out for one part and get asked to do another, he said.

The major productions include Paralysis, a dystopian science-fiction film, Devil in the Woods, a horror movie and Studio Major, a “sometimes serious” talk show. Three films means at least three genres in this case, so all kinds of talent is expected to come out.

Loyalist Productions 2016’s Facebook page says their casting call won’t be limited to just these films, and that everyone who auditions will be entered in a draw for a Cineplex gift card.

QNet News will be in room 1N12 at Loyalist’s Kente Building from 5 to 8 p.m. this Tuesday, interviewing actors and organizers alike.
