BELLEVILLE – Several key issues are on the agenda at Belleville’s city council meeting tonight.

Council will vote on a proposal to purchase three Para Transit buses from Overland Custom Coach. The buses are estimated to cost up to $100,000 each. These vehicles would be used for citizens that require special transit.

A proposal request for new playground equipment at Kinsmen Park will also be discussed. The proposal is asking for nearly $130,000 for the project.

Sanitary and storm sewer improvements for three streets – costing $7.5 million – is looking for approval tonight. If council gives it the green light, the Small Communities Fund will give the project $5 million.

The city is also looking to purchase the parking lot across City Hall on Front Street. The approval and authorization will be discussed at the meeting.

More to come.
