  • September 30, 2015 at 1:09 pm

By Cam Kennedy

BELLEVILLE – Three schools in Bancroft were placed in lockdown Wednesday after a report of an armed man was in the schools’ area.

The lockdowns were lifted after a brief time when no suspect was located.

North Hastings High School, Our Lady of Mercy Elementary School and York River Public School were advised by the Bancroft detachment of the OPP to implement lockdowns as a precaution.

A police search was conducted in the downtown area of Bancroft along with a search of the schools.

No evidence was found, police say.
