BELLEVILLE – Police responded to a number of public disturbances on Wednesday night.

At approximately 6 p.m., police officers arrested a 45-year-old Belleville man at Pinnacle Street and Bridge Street East for stumbling into traffic and yelling at people, according to police. The man was charged with public intoxication.

Belleville Police got a number of calls on Wednesday night about a drunk woman banging on storefront windows in downtown. The 29-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

Early Thursday morning, officers went to a home on Fifth Street and arrested a 37-year-old Belleville man. He was a family member who was damaging things inside the home, police said. Although alcohol was a factor, the man was arrested for breach of the peace.
