Students walk out of classes to back support workers

BELLEVILLE – Students in Belleville and Trenton high schools have been walking out of classes in support of educational support staff.

Custodial staff have been on work-to-rule protests for weeks because the provincial government has not reached a contract deal with their union. This means the janitors have stopped performing certain duties, such as the cleanup of debris in school hallways.

Students at Trenton High School walked out Monday and at Moira Secondary School in Belleville on Tuesday.
