Working to create a bike-friendly Belleville

  • October 20, 2015 at 3:07 pm

By Angus Argyle

BELLEVILLE – In an effort to help Belleville chart a path to being a more bicycle-friendly city, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has partnered with the Share the Road Cycling Coalition.

Municipal officials and community stakeholders are in the process of creating a short-term action plan to make cycling easier and safer in Belleville. On Tuesday the partnership wants community organizations, municipalities and individuals to discuss ideas. Three priority areas from the plan will be presented and participants will help build a common understanding of what a Bicycle Friendly Belleville should be.

The partnership is funded by the Ontario government.

More to come.
