Golden Hawks receive $10,000
BELLEVILLE – The Trenton Golden Hawks have received a $10,000 sponsorship from Quinte West council.
The money is to help cover costs of hosting two upcoming events, a World Juniors exhibition game between Team Canada West and Team Russia in December, and the OJHL North-East Showcase in January.
Both of these events will be held at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens in Trenton.
John McDonald, the director of hockey operations for the Golden Hawks, says the events will help boost the local economy:
If these events go well, the Golden Hawks hope to be chosen to host the 2017 Dudley Hewitt Cup. The cup is awarded to the Central Canada Junior A champion.
