BELLEVILLE – The Trenton Golden Hawks [2] have received a $10,000 sponsorship from Quinte West council.
The money is to help cover costs of hosting two upcoming events, a World Juniors exhibition game between Team Canada West and Team Russia in December, and the OJHL North-East Showcase [3] in January.
Both of these events will be held at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens [4] in Trenton.
John McDonald, the director of hockey operations for the Golden Hawks, says the events will help boost the local economy:

If these events go well, the Golden Hawks hope to be chosen to host the 2017 Dudley Hewitt Cup [6]. The cup is awarded to the Central Canada Junior A champion.
